The Whistler Adaptive Sport Academy is a weekly multi-sport program offering activities up to 5 days per week to adults and children with cognitive or physical disabilities based in Whistler and Pemberton, BC. In summer, participants hike or use trail riders, canoe, bike, kayak, swim, row, train for triathlons, practice yoga and gain valuable vocational skills through volunteer employment. In winter, a similar structure applies with a focus on alpine skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, swimming, yoga and strength and conditioning.
Sport builds socialization, leadership skills and healthy growth and development for everyone, whether they have just acquired a disability or have been active all their lives. Access to sport and recreation opens doors to endless possibilities, renews self-confidence and creates new levels of independence for people with disabilities. The Whistler Adaptive Sport Academy offers a fun and inclusive community to Whistler and Pemberton locals with disabilities who want to get outside, enjoy activities with friends and constantly challenge and improve themselves. To top it off, all you have to do to join is fill out the Sport Academy Registration below and become a member of Whistler Adaptive for $25 per year.
