Raise the Roof Returns June 10th
Delta Whistler Village Suites hopes to raise over $25,000 for local and provincial charities
Whistler, B.C. – Delta Whistler Village Suites will host the 8th annual Raise the Roof fundraiser to benefit the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program and BC Children’s Hospital.
The event features a raffle and silent auction offering numerous hotel stays, restaurants, activities and local artists. An employee driven fundraiser, Delta staff have set a fundraising target of $25,000. To date this event has raised just under $120,000. Almost all of the auction donations have been generously made by the community of Whistler.
The raffle proceeds will be matched via Scotiabank’s Bright Futures Program and they will benefit Whistler Adaptive. The proceeds from the silent auction, donation entries as well as beer and wine sales will be split between BC Children’s Hospital and Whistler Adaptive.
“We are thrilled to be the recipient charity again this year for Raise the Roof on June 10,” said Chelsey Walker, executive director. “The staff and management at the Delta Whistler Village Suites have been long-time supporters of our organization. They have raised over $60,000 for our adaptive sports programs. We also want to thank Scotiabank for matching the raffle proceeds.”
The event takes place at the Delta Whistler Village Suites on Friday June 10th from 5-9 pm. Suggested entry donation of $15 at the door on June 10.
“‘We are excited to continue our support of Whistler Adaptive Sports Program and new this year BC Children’s Hospital. We feel the two charities complement one another and are easy for the Whistler community to rally behind. We are hoping for our best year yet,” said Jeff Kennedy, General Manager of the Delta Whistler Village Suites said.
