Welcome to Whistler Adaptive Sports!

Sport is returning to British Columbia. It will resume in accordance with the phases outlined in B.C.’s Restart Plan. At the request of the Province of B.C., viaSport is leading the creation of a set of guidelines on how to resume sport while operating safely during this pandemic – the Return to Sport Guidelines. These guidelines will be issued following review and approval by a cross-ministry oversight committee supported by guidance and advice of provincial health officials and WorkSafe BC.
Return to sport process for amateur sport

As outlined in B.C.’s Restart Plan, during Phase 3, sport activities organized and operated by Local Sport Organizations (LSOs), Provincial Sport Organizations (PSOs), and Disability Sport Organizations (DSOs) can resume in a limited way.
We are happy to announce that our sport-specific Return to Sport guidelines for Nordic ski and snowshoe, swim, yoga, and indoor physical literacy activities have been approved by our Board of Directors and the respective venues (Whistler Olympic Park – pending Whistler Sport Legacies approval) that we operate out of. This means that we are ready to start making regular bookings for these activities.

Please note, as of December 24, 2020, all group adult indoor sport and recreation at Whistler Adaptive is suspended in accordance with the Joint Statement on BC’s Response to COVID-19.  Whistler Adaptive children and youth programming can continue indoors following our Phase 2 Return to Sport Plan

We have started take bookings for regular weekly sessions with local Sea to Sky athletes for our alpine programs. We assure you that we are working diligently to start operations for our alpine based programs and are eager to welcome back our skiers and snowboarders from outside the Sea to Sky however we are waiting for travel restrictions to be lifted according to the provincial health order. Thank you for your continued patience during this challenging time.

During this winter season, we are focusing mainly on community programming. Local athletes will have a regular weekly booking in their chosen activity and they will be paired with a coach and a volunteer from their local community when possible.  Regional athlete bookings will be considered only once the recommendations around travel for sport are lifted by the PHO.  We will continue to monitor the PHO guidelines and adjust to this ever-changing situation.  We are hopeful we will be able to welcome back our athletes from further afield in the near future.
