Winter has arrived in the Sea to Sky, and with it comes another exciting season of adaptive snowsports at Whistler Blackcomb. Thanks to strong community support and a valued long-term partnership with Whistler Blackcomb with support from Vail Resorts Epic Promise Program, adaptive snowsports continue to grow and thrive in our region. Together, we’re proud to help ensure that people with disabilities and neurodiversity can enjoy the mountains with confidence, independence, and community.
Learning and Playing on the Mountain
Whether you’re trying adaptive snowsports for the first time or looking to build your skills, our dedicated on-mountain Jeff Harbers Adaptive Sports Centre, located at Olympic Station on Whistler Mountain, is your fully accessible home base. It’s a welcoming place to get ready, get fitted with equipment, meet your instructors, take breaks and use the centre’s two accessible washrooms.
The Centre houses all of our adaptive snowsports equipment, from sit-skis to outriggers for 3-track and 4-track skiing, plus radio headsets that support instruction for people with visual impairments. Our Canadian Adaptive Snowsports certified instructors use adaptive coaching approaches tailored to participants with cognitive disabilities and neurodiversity, offering clear communication, structured progression, and individualized support to help each person feel confident and successful. Whether you’re learning to ski independently or exploring the mountain with the support of a guide, friends, or family, we’re here to help you make the most of your time on snow.
