Admin Volunteer Positions

Whistler Adaptive has many behind the scenes projects that require volunteer support. Some of these projects include online support, graphic design, Gala committee, volunteer recruitment, training, and support for various fundraising events throughout the year.

Marketing, Data, Office Tasks

Term: Ongoing

Hours: 2-8 hours per week (1-2 days)

Meeting Locations: Work from home or Whistler Adaptive office

Description: Whistler Adaptive has many behind the scenes projects that require volunteer support. Some of these projects include online support, graphic design, and volunteer recruitment fairs. Whistler Adaptive will provide funding for ongoing professional development, training and certification upgrades for the successful candidate as well as mentorship opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry
  • Photo editing
  • Graphic design
  • Social media copywriting
  • In person volunteer recruitment and education

Requirements of the Role

  • High school student*
  • Passion for adaptive sports and making a difference in our community
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Able to sit at a desk for 1-2 hours
  • Satisfactory criminal record check

Training

  • Training for administrative roles will be done in a mentor/mentee format, where volunteers will be working directly with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and other staff directly towards a common project.
  • Further administrative training is available upon demand.

Fundraising

Term: Ongoing

Hours: 2-8 hours per week (1-2 days)

Meeting Locations: Work from home or Whistler Adaptive office

Description: Whistler Adaptive has many fundraising events that require volunteer support. Some of these events include our annual Whistler Adaptive Gala, Raise the roof, and annual Fundraising Drive. Whistler Adaptive will provide funding for ongoing professional development, training and certification upgrades for the successful candidate as well as mentorship opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry
  • Photo editing
  • Graphic design
  • Online auction support
  • Donation collection and photography
  • Donor recruitment and community connection

Requirements of the role

  • Experience with not-for-profit sector
  • Passion for adaptive sport and making a difference in the community
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Able to sit at a desk for 1-2 hours
  • Satisfactory criminal record check

Training

  • Training for fundraising roles will be done in a mentor/mentee format, where volunteers will be working directly with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and other staff directly towards a common project.
