Are you interested in joining our Board?

Posted: October 1, 2024Read Time: 1 minute

We are excited to announce an opening on the Board of the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program Society and will be taking nominations at this year’s Annual General Meeting on October 27, 2024 which will take place at Delta Hotel’s Whistler Village Suites, Raven B Meeting Room at 2pm.

The WAS Board plays an important role in helping to set the strategic direction of the organization, as well as drawing upon board members professional skills as and when needed to support day-to-day operations.

As the field of adaptive sports continues to grow in both popularity and innovation, we welcome professionals with diverse expertise to contribute to this transformative sector. A working knowledge of insurance brokerage or underwriting would be an asset and provide a valuable perspective as we aim to enhance accessibility, safety, and opportunities for athletes with disabilities.

In addition to general responsibilities and duties outlined in the Job Description here below, we are seeking individuals who can:

  • Collaborate on insurance solutions that reflect the unique needs of adaptive athletes, from individual coverage to event-related policies.
  • Innovate underwriting standards that align with the evolving landscape of adaptive sports and its growth.
  • Advocate for inclusivity in risk management and insurance practices, ensuring that athletes with disabilities are fully supported.
