2023/24 BURSARY PERIOD: September 30, 2023 to July 31, 2024
Thank you for your interest in applying for a bursary with the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program. Please read carefully and complete the forms to the best of your ability. If you are filling out this application on behalf of a prospective client please include your name and contact details at the end of the application.
The Whistler Adaptive Sports Program offers bursaries for each operating season or on a year-round basis. You can apply once per year for bursary assistance.
Applying for a bursary or being a bursary recipient in the past does not guarantee that you will receive a bursary this year. Bursaries are based on financial need.
Please note: If you are chosen to receive a bursary, you may be required to submit a photocopy of your tax return as proof of income and the bursary funds will not be applied retroactively to programming already received.
Bursary Funding Levels
Athletes who demonstrate a financial need may apply for a bursary to participate in our year-round or seasonal activities. Bursaries are limited to a maximum of $1,000 year round.
If you are awarded a bursary and are participating with a group, your bursary will cover the Whistler Adaptive activities and equipment your group is scheduled to attend. Please refer to the winter and summer programs listed on our website for details on the activities offered. Please plan in advance, and make your reservations as early as possible.
Bursary recipients need to arrange for their own transportation to program activities unless otherwise indicated in the program website. Bursary applications should be submitted during the usual cycle, however you may apply at any time but there is no guarantee that there will be funds available after the fall intake.
Failure to comply with these four requirements will result in being ineligible for future bursaries.
- Bursaries are made possible through the generosity of individuals, foundations and corporations. If you are selected to receive a bursary, you must write a thank-you letter so that we can send it to our sponsors who would like to learn more about what we are doing.
