Already have experience in adaptive sport? Whistler Adaptive rents out a variety of specialized, sport-specific equipment to help you get out and play during your stay! Please contact us at least one day in advance to book equipment rentals.
Whistler Adaptive currently only provides access to adaptive alpine skiing equipment through our lesson bookings.
Sit-skis have a moulded seat (a “bucket”) with an adjustable back positioned on a metal frame that is mounted on bindings for two skis. The Nordic sit ski is for participants with cognitive disabilities, limited lower body strength and people who use wheelchairs; including those with paraplegia, quadriplegia, or bilateral lower extremity amputations.
Hand cycling experiences with Whistler Adaptive are aided by low-to-the-ground wheels powered by the arms rather than the legs. Whistler has a range of paved and gently graded trails so that novice and more experienced riders can enjoy the area scenery. We have a kids' hand-cycle, a 14 speed cruiser with mountain drive or a 28 speed racer with free wheel crank.
Specially-designed for Whistler’s gnarly alpine trails, the Trail Riders allow access for people of all abilities, especially those with mobility restrictions, to explore Whistler's beautiful hiking trails. The entire family can enjoy an alpine environment together.
The lift rental is an Invacare model RPL450-1. It is subject to a delivery fee, but can be used for a full day.
Rental prices can be viewed here. All rentals require the purchase of a membership or daily access pass with Whistler Adaptive.
