Wage: $22.00 – $24 .00 per hour dependent on experience
Whistler Adaptive Sports Program is dedicated to providing access to outdoor recreation
for individuals with disabilities and neurodiversity. We aim to break down barriers, offering
opportunities to participate in a wide variety of sports and activities. We are currently
seeking an Assistant Program Coordinator to support the Athlete Coordinator in managing
our community program and winter events.
Duties:
The Assistant Program Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Athlete
Coordinator by assisting with program administration, athlete onboarding, community
program delivery, and customer service. The ideal candidate will also assist in the delivery
of winter events, stepping into a coaching role when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
Administration:
- Assist with athlete onboarding, including registration, intake, and individual
program planning. - Help maintain athlete profiles and manage customer relationship management
(CRM) systems. - Administrative support of events and winter programs, coordinating with staff
and volunteers as needed. - When the situation requires it, work jointly with WAS partners and collaborators,
under the supervision of the Athlete Coordinator. - Respond to customer inquiries, providing high-quality service and information.
- Assist in organizing and updating program-related documentation, including
- waivers and releases.
- Assist staff with Spring program planning, scheduling and communication.
Program Support:
Support the delivery of the winter programs, working alongside the Athlete
Coordinator and assisting other members of the WAS team to ensure smooth
operations.
- Assist with scheduling, program operations, and logistics.
- Foster positive relationships with athletes and their families, ensuring their
needs are met and providing feedback to improve services. - WAS is looking for a candidate who may also be able to step into an alpine ski
coach role when needed, - Be open and willing to provide administrative or operational support in other key
WAS programs, such as Nordic skiing. - Support snow show hikes as required.
Winter Special Event Support:
- Assist with the planning and delivery of special events, including supporting
logistics and leading specific activities as needed. - Assist with any fundraising activities that are ongoing during the winter
- Qualifications & experience:
- Experience in working with individuals with disabilities and neurodiversity is
preferred. - Knowledge and experience of winter sports
- Knowledge and experience of alpine sports and ski coach qualifications, (with
CSIA and/or CADS certifications.) an asset, - Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other administrative tools.
- Open and adaptable mindset and be capable of adjusting to new situations and
challenges. - Valid first aid and CPR certification is preferred (training available if not current).
