Whistler Adaptive Sports Program was honoured to bring the community together again for another unforgettable No Limits Fundraiser night at Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar. With over $160,000 raised, the night served as another reminder of how powerful a community can be when rallying behind accessibility, inclusion, and opportunity.
The No Limits Gala was filled with energy, generosity, and heartfelt moments. Gary Raymond, who travels from the United States, returned for another year to lead the live auction and paddle raise. He created a remarkable atmosphere and generously matched donations in real time. MCs Derek and Rory kept the event running smoothly and brought plenty of laughter and excitement throughout the night.
A major highlight of this year’s fundraiser was the online auction, which raised an outstanding $50,247. More than 200 businesses generously donated items to create an auction filled with local adventures, unique experiences, getaway packages, and more. The overwhelming participation from supporters and guests across the Sea-to-Sky and Lower Mainland continues to play a large role in helping adaptive sport programs thrive.
One of the most powerful moments from the evening came from the guest speaker, Mike Shaw, who shared his story of how his spinal cord injury changed the course of his life. His motivational message about resilience, recovery, and determination left a lasting impact on every individual in the room.
Whistler Adaptive extends sincere thanks to the event sponsors, including Whistler Platinum, RBC, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Beedie, Buntain Insurance, Leslie-Anne and Greg Blake, and Delta Hotel. Their continued support plays an essential role in helping athletes and participants access adaptive sport programs year-round.
Special thanks to Oisín McHugh, who captured the spirit of the night, as well as to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to make the night happen. To the various local businesses, individuals, and organizations who donated items to our online and live auction, we are wholeheartedly grateful.
To everyone who donated, bid in the auction, attended the gala, or supported this fundraiser in any way, thank you for helping create more opportunities for people of all abilities to experience the joy of sports and recreation.
