Getting Around Whistler

Whistler Adaptive is a member of the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s Measuring Up committee that collaborates with resort partners to provide equal treatment to people with disabilities with respect to the use and benefit of municipal services, programs, goods and facilities. Financial Assistance

Whistler Adaptive Sports Program offers bursaries of up to $1,000 to athletes who demonstrate a need for financial assistance. Please check our Bursary page for details and to apply.

Group Getaways & Adventures with the help of Whistler Adaptive

Whistler Adaptive can help pull together a great itinerary of sightseeing, adrenaline-inducing adventures, outdoor exercise and therapeutic recreation. We have organized trips for groups like Spinal Cord Injury BC and many more. Whistler Adaptive organized a weekend of bungee jumping, ziplining, kayaking, hand-cycling and Peak2Peak Gondola viewing. BC Adaptive Snowsports –  BC Adaptive Snowsports is responsible for the development and support of adapted snowsport programs throughout BC and is based in Vancouver.

BC Mobility Opportunities Services – Learn more about the Trail Rider and how people with physical disabilities can use them to explore the valley and alpine mountain trails.

CanAssist – CanAssist is dedicated both to helping people with disabilities improve their quality of life and to increasing awareness of disability issues.

Neil Squire Society – Empowering Canadians with physical disabilities through the use of computer-based assistive technologies, research and development, and various employment programs.  

Special Olympics BC – Provides individuals with intellectual disabilities opportunities to enrich their lives and celebrate personal achievement through positive sport experiences.

Spinal Cord Injury BC – SCI BC is dedicated to helping people with spinal cord injuries, and with related disabilities, adjust, adapt and thrive. Currently, we serve over 1,500 British Columbians with SCI, and their families and friends, by providing answers, information and unique community experiences.

Whistler Community Services Society – Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) has a strong history of quickly responding to the needs of the community using an effective, collaborative and unique approach. WCSS works with community partners, members, funders and other non-profits to“Provide programs and services that support social sustainability in Whistler”.

Jooay – Jooay is a free app that helps children with disabilities and their families to locate leisure opportunities that are: close to where they are, accessible, suit their needs and abilities, match their preferences, can help them develop and participate in society. Jooay is also a community, to help parents, rehabilitation professionals, educators and community to connect, exchange, and learn from each other.

Access 2 Card Program – The award-winning Access 2 Program is a collaborative partnership between Easter Seals and over 500 movie theatres, cultural attractions, entertainment venues, and recreation facilities across Canada. Designed for people of all ages who have a permanent disability and require the assistance of a support person, the goal of the Access 2 Program is to improve social inclusion and provide access to entertainment, cultural and recreation opportunities and experiences without any added financial burden.
