As a volunteer coach for our Winter Program you will be involved in supporting athletes to safely participate and develop skills across a range of winter sports including Alpine and nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Our Winter program runs for consecutive weeks over a three month period and session duration varies from between 1 hour up to a full day.

December: Training for Winter Program Volunteers
January – April: Weekly Summer Program
Responsibilities:
- Safely support athletes with a disability and assist the lead coach in delivering sports and recreation sessions
- Assist in the setting up and putting away sports equipment
- Monitoring the safety of athletes (i.e. being the tail of the group)
- Facilitating a positive social environment for athletes to build connections and have fun!
Requirements:
- Reasonable fitness to stay active for 1.5hr
- Attend WAS training sessions including Canadian Adaptive Snowsports Level 1 and complete the online Coaching Association of Canada Safe Sport Training.
