Spring Program Volunteer

As a volunteer coach for our Spring Program you will be involved in supporting athletes to keep active and maintain fitness and mobility through the shoulder season periods with sessions in swimming, biking, yoga and strength and conditioning. Our Spring program runs for consecutive weeks for 5/6 weeks and session durations varies from between 1 – 2 hours.

Key Dates:

April – May: Weekly Spring Program

Responsibilities:

  • Safely support athletes with a disability and assist the lead coach in delivering sports and recreation sessions
  • Assist in the setting up and putting away sports equipment
  • Monitoring the safety of athletes
  • Facilitating a positive social environment for athletes to build connections and have fun!

Requirements:

  • Able to be physically active for at least 2 hours
  • Able to swim in deep water or ride a bike.
  • Attend WAS training sessions and complete the online Coaching Association of Canada Safe Sport Training.
