Whistler Adaptive Raises Over $170,000 at 2025 No Limits Fundraiser

Posted: April 29, 2025Read Time: 2 minutes

Whistler Adaptive Sports Program is proud to share the success of the 2025 No Limits Fundraiser, which raised more than $170,000 in support of adaptive sport and recreation programs throughout the Sea-to-Sky corridor. Funds were raised through an online silent auction, ticket sales to the No Limits Gala, generous individual donations and event sponsorship.

The online auction alone brought in an impressive $47,733, thanks to the support of more than 200 local businesses that contributed incredible experiences and products. Guests and supporters from across Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton, and Vancouver came together to celebrate and support accessible sport for individuals with disabilities and neurodiversity.

The No Limits Gala dinner was a night to remember. Highlights from the evening included a straight-out $8,000 bid for a new hiking wheelchair, showcasing the community’s commitment to accessibility and independence in the outdoors. The live auction and paddle raise were filled with energy and friendly competition, with generous donations matched in real time by our dedicated auctioneer Gary Raymond. Gary, who each year travels from the United States to volunteer his time, has been a cornerstone of this annual event for the past seven years.

Guests were also moved by an inspiring speech from Assunta Aquino, who shared how sport played a vital role in helping her to manage the symptoms of PTSD. Her courage and honesty served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of adaptive sport. MCs Derek and Rory kept the evening on track while keeping the crowd energized and engaged throughout the night.

In a spontaneous act of generosity, Wild Blue Restaurant made a last-minute addition to the live auction, contributing an exclusive experience that drew enthusiastic bids. Wild Blue also provided the evening’s unforgettable dinner, which was a true culinary highlight.

Whistler Adaptive extends heartfelt thanks to all event sponsors including Whistler Platinum, Buntain Insurance, Leslie-Anne and Greg Blake, BMO Nesbitt Burns, ESQ Design, and Carman Jean Realtor. Their continued support plays a vital role in the success of this fundraiser.

Special thanks also go out to all who have volunteered their time and energy to help us, including event photographer Oisín McHugh, who beautifully captured the night. To the many local business owners, makers, associated organizations and individuals who donated items to our online auction, we are sincerely grateful.

To everyone who placed a bid, bought a ticket or donated, thank you. Your support ensures that sport and recreation remain accessible to all.
